I spent the few days leading up to the game searching the internet for below face value deals, and was happy with some of the deals I was finding. I started out by going to Ticketmaster and getting the "face value" of different sections including the "convenience" charges. Then I went to my favorite on line communities to see what I could find at a better deal. I found numbers varying wildly from double face value to up to 75% below face value.
I approached the editor of the magazine with the findings and he told me that it would be a better story all the way around if I could wait until the day of the game and figure it out then, but he would keep my numbers that I gave him for the record.
Day of the game I was hanging at the Fox Sports Grill talking with some people I just met. During the conversation, it came up that the girl had four extra tickets in the Club Level that were just going to go to waste. I asked her how much she would want for them and she made my day by offering them to me for FREE!
The game was a blast. The Seahawks beat the Bears in overtime, 29-26. The stadium really is the loudest place I've ever been in. I can only imagine how loud it must be during a playoff game.
